Our marketing name is the Houston Kid Cougars. We are a youth organization reaching out to youth on the field an off the field.

It is important to us that the kids not only excel on the field however in the classroom as well.  With the help of our volunteers and sponsors, we are able to support our youth program.

The Houston Kid Cougars will be able to utilize the support and interest, to teach and develop leaders of tomorrow. Our organization is thankful to our devoted strategic partners and volunteers that make our organization successful each year.
Our Educational & Heath Focus:

Our children are the world’s future and they depend on families, communities and society at large to nurture and protect them, and to give them a platform for independence and success.

But today, too many children grow up in a cycle of poverty that limits their access to adequate education, nutritious food, economic security and quality health care.  It’s essential that we stand up for these children and change the social dynamics that hold some of them back.

We’re helping communities marshal their resources to assure that all children have an equitable and promising future.

Our focus is to increase our youths education and focus specifically in the areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, the environment, job training and literacy.

We further strive to enhance the care and nutrition they need for optimal development.

Our Athletic/Football Focus:

We as an organization/coaching staff intend to take these young students of the game and drive home the basic fundamentals of football.

We also intend to enhance the knowledge of the game  of football such as: "What usually happens in 3rd and long  situations?" If you are winning a game,  and have the ball do you want the clock  to run or do you run out of bounds and stop the clock?

Every team has what is referred to as "studs" (usually the  best and most dynamic players on a team).  However, whatwhat about the "role players" and  their development?

We as an organization/coaching staff will concentrate on making these "role  players" better.

The better the "role players" become, the better the chances  of our organizations/football team success. Small wins add up to a teams victory. Once again, thank you for your interest in Cougar Football, "Dare to become as good as you can be."

Our Athletic/Cheer Focus:

Cheerleading is group of individuals performing tumbling, jumping and cheers to encourage and energize spectators at sporting events; It is a team sport in which squads perform routines to music and are judged at competitions.

How can cheerleading help my child?

  • It allows them to develop a sense of responsibility to themselves and others.
  • It will build self-confidence and self-esteem.
  • They will learn teamwork
  • Cheerleading develops friendships.
  • Cheerleading teaches dedication.
  • It improves strength, endurance, coordination and flexibility

The Cougar cheerleaders are a close knit team, and our Coaching Staff treat each child as if it were our own. Our goal is to work with each cheerleader on an individual basis and bring out the best in each cheerleader throughout the season.

Our Parent Commitment Request
I  understand the coaches, staff members, fellow parents, strategic partners, and the other children are making a commitment of their time and energy and I need to do the same. I will make every reasonable effort to have my child at all practices, games on time.

If I cannot, I will notify the coach to let them know if my child will be late or will miss a game or practice. I understand my child may not participate fully in games and/or competitions if they have missed practice or games; this is at the discretion of the coach.

I will help make this a great season for my child and the organization by giving 100% "Parent Commitment".
